How To Create Instagram Stories ads in Meta Ads Manager

You can use the Instagram Stories placement with all photo and video dimensions. You can also use the Carousel format to show more than one photo or video in ads that run in Instagram Stories.

 

 

 

Before you begin

  • You need an Instagram account to create and run ads on Instagram.

  • You'll need to choose an objective that can run ads in Instagram Stories.

Create Instagram Stories ads

To have your ads run on Instagram Stories:

  1. Go to Meta Ads Manager and select + Create.
  2. Choose an objective that aligns with your marketing goal.
  3. Fill in the details for your campaign. At the Placements level, choose Advantage+ placements.
  4. If you choose Manual placements, check the box for Stories under Instagram.
  5. Continue by setting your ad's budget and schedule. The next steps will be related to choosing elements that will determine what your ad will look like.
  6. Choose Single imageSingle video or Carousel as the ad format.
  7. Add any images or videos to your ad and finish including other details.
  8. If you chose an image, you can use Stories templates, a free design tool which allows you to customize your creative into a vertical stories animation.
  9. Complete your ad by selecting Confirm.

You can preview your ad before submitting it for review. Use the dropdown and select Instagram Stories to see how your ad will look in that placement. You can also create mock-ups for your ads in the Meta Creative Hub.
