How to control which products appear in your shop on Facebook and Instagram

By default, all items from your catalog are automatically included in your shop on Facebook and Instagram. You can change this shop inventory setting in Commerce Manager. You can also choose to hide or show specific products in your shop from either the Shops tab or Items tab.

Note: Hiding a product from your shop is different from archiving it. Products that are hidden from your shop can still appear in other channels, such as ads. Archived products won’t appear in any of your channels.

Before you begin

• Set up a shop on Facebook or Instagram.

• You’ll need the Manage commerce account or Manage shops permission as well as the Manage catalog permission. Learn about permissions in Commerce Manager.

Change your shop inventory setting or hide and show products from the Shops tab

To change your shop inventory setting or hide and show specific products in your shop from the Shops tab:

1. Go to Commerce Manager and select your shop.
2. Go to the Shops tab and click Edit shop.
3. Click Settings and then Inventory.
4. Choose an inventory setting to control which products from your catalog automatically appear in this shop:

   • Default (recommended): All products in your catalog are automatically included in your shop. You can still choose to manually hide any specific products that you don’t want shown.

   • Advanced: Products in your catalog aren't automatically included in your shop. Products only appear in your shop if you feature them on your shop’s home page, add them to a collection that’s in your shop, tag them in a post or manually show them.

5. Click Review products in shop to manually hide or show specific products in this shop:

   • To hide a product, click . The product (and any variants it has) will be hidden from this shop even if it’s in a collection that's been added to the shop or if it's featured on the shop’s home page.

   • To show a product, click .

Hide or show products in your shop from the Items tab

To manually hide or show specific products in your shop from the Items tab:

1. Go to Commerce Manager and select your catalog.
2. Open the Catalog tab and go to Items.
3. Find the item you want to edit. Click on it to open its product details.
4. Click Shops.
5. Control whether to hide or show the item (and any variants it has) in your shops:

   • To show or hide the item in certain shops, turn on the toggle next to Allow item to be used for Shops. Then turn on the toggles next to any individual shops listed below where you want to show this item. Turn off the toggles for any shops where you want to hide the item.

   • To hide the item from all your shops, turn off the toggle next to Allow item to be used for Shops. This overrides the toggles next to any individual shops listed below, even if they appear turned on.
