How To Create a Click to WhatsApp Ad from Instagram

Professional accounts on Instagram can now create ads that allow potential customers to message your business directly on WhatsApp. When someone taps on this type of Instagram ad, it will open a thread with your business account on WhatsApp.

Before you begin

• Your Instagram professional account must be linked to your WhatsApp business account in order to create a click to WhatsApp ad from Instagram.

• Your ad should meet Meta's WhatsApp Commerce Policy.

Create a Click to WhatsApp Ad from Instagram

1. Go to your profile.
2. Tap the post you’d like to boost.
3. Below the post, tap Boost Post.
4. Under Goal, select Messages.
5. Tap Edit and choose a messaging app.
6. Select WhatsApp.
7. Continue creating your ad as usual, filling in details for Audience (who you want to reach), Budget (how much you want to spend daily) and Duration (how long you want your ad to run). Tap Next once you've completed these details.
8. To complete your ad, tap Boost post under Review.

Once you've tapped Boost post, your ad will be submitted for review to make sure it meets Facebook ad policies. Your ad will begin running after it's been reviewed and approved.
