How To Add or Remove an Instagram Account From Your Facebook Page

This article applies to both the classic and new Pages experience.

 

 

Connect your Instagram business account to your Facebook Page for additional benefits, such as:

  • Share posts and pictures between your Page and Instagram.

  • Share ads from your Page to Instagram, and integrate third-party apps.

  • Manage comments and IG Direct messages from Inbox in Messenger or Meta Business Suite.

Before you begin

  • You may need to convert to an Instagram professional account to link to a Facebook Page (if the Facebook Page is managed in Business Manager). We recommend completing this step in advance.

    • To create an Instagram account, download the app from your phone and follow the screens for creating a new account.

    • If you have a personal account, you will be prompted to convert to a business account during the linking process.

  • You must be the admin of the Facebook Page.

  • If you have transitioned to the new Pages experience, you must have Facebook access to complete the steps. If you have task access, you can manage the new Page from another platform.

Add or remove Instagram account in classic Pages

To add or remove an Instagram account from your classic Facebook Page:

  1. Open your Facebook Page.
  2. Select Settings from the left menu.
  3. Select Instagram.
  4. To add an Instagram account to your Page, select Connect Account. Make sure the "Allow access to Instagram messages in Inbox" is toggled on and then click Continue. Enter your Instagram account's Username and Password, and select Log in.

    • If you do not have a business account, you will be prompted to convert your personal account.

  5. To remove an Instagram account, select Disconnect and confirm that you would like to remove the Instagram account.

Add or remove Instagram account in new Pages experience

To add or remove an Instagram account from your new Facebook Page:

  1. Switch into your new Page.
  2. From your new Page, click Manage.
  3. From the left menu under Professional dashboard, click Linked accounts.
  4. To add an account, click Connect account. Enter your Instagram account's Username and Password, and select Log in.
  5. To remove an Instagram account, click Disconnect account and click Yes, disconnect to confirm that you would like to remove the Instagram account.
