How to Create Instagram Reels

Similar to TikTok, Instagram has a Reels feed where you can browse all kinds of videos from any Instagram user.  This is one of the best methods to get new people and connect with those you might have never met.

To create Reels on Instagram you need just follow next steps:

  1. Click the plus icon at the top of the page and chose Reel

  2. Record or upload your video

  3. Use a variety of creative editing tools on the left side of your screen which help to create your reel.

Audio: Search for a song in the Instagram music collection. You can also use your own original audio by simply recording a reel with it. When you share a reel with original audio, the audio will be credited to you, and if you have a public account, other people can use your audio by clicking "Use Audio" from your reel.

AR Effects: To record your clips with effects, choose from the Instagram effect collection.

Countdown and timer: Use the timer to record any of your clips without using your hands. When you push the record, a 3-2-1 countdown appears before the time of the recording starts.

Align: Before recording your next clip, align the elements from your previous one to help create smooth transitions for scenes like changing cloth or adding new people to your reel.

Speed: Choose to speed up or slow down video or audio. You can use this to keep the beat or create slow-motion videos.

  1. Set up your Reel’s settings

When you finished all the processes, click the Next in the bottom right corner of your screen. Your options include:

Edit your Reel cover. You can either add an image from your camera roll or pick a frame from the video;

Add a caption;

Tag people;

Select a location;

Rename the audio file. If you upload your own audio to your Reel (such as a voice recording), you can give it a name that will appear in other users' Reels if they use it;

Turn on or off captions that are automatically created;

Choose “Also share to Feed” if you want to see your video in your Feed, not just in Reel’s Tab.

  1. Post your Reel

Just click on the button Share and your Reel is done!
